AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! What was once the most fabulous Sunday champagne brunch in all of South Florida has become a sad, diappointing, tasteless ghost of past glory.

We ate here over the weekend for our first brunch at the Biltmore. The whole set up is a disaster. There is one room for breakfast and dessert then you have to walk through a courtyard for meat, fish and hot food. Someone should be standing at the doors to open and close as you have a plate in your hand. The service was lacking from the staff. One guest asked for coffee which arrived cold and with no spoon to stir the milk and sugar. At other places, the mimosas are frequently refilled which was not the case here. I was looking forward to sampling the paella which was a huge disappointment. The rice was grainy and the snow crab inedible. The snow crab was overly salty and tasted rancid. This is a very expensive brunch and I would not return.

If you are hot and sweaty after a day in the Coral Gables or Miami area, consider a therapeutic visit to the Cellar Club Bar at the Biltmore Coral Gables. You will find as I did that the Biltmore Bar is a great place to meet friends, talk about golf and just unwind. José and Katherine will do their utmost to make your day excellent. If you’re a late night visitor - ask Jeffery to do the same! I have just finished my third Budweiser and I am feeling like joining this “Cellar Club” as a permanent member. Actually, that old Boston bar called “Cheers” has nothing on The Biltmore Bar. Here it’s just straightforward bar talk. Come and see if my opinion is one you can share! Cheers! From the Cellar Club Bar at Biltmore Coral Gables. Oh by the way there is a 10 star golf course and the most beautiful swimming pool in North America here too.
